Content Marketing for Startups 2016

Posted On 07 Oct, 2016 by Vishal V

Startups have a lot to accomplish when it comes to brand awareness and customer loyalty. That is why content marketing, with low input cost and potentially high return, should be included in every brand’s comprehensive marketing plan. To get you started with your own content marketing strategy, here are three tips to keep in mind:

1. Know your audience and what they want  The first step to creating successful online content is to research the audience. Not only do we need to know who they are, but what they are looking for as well. Online tools such as Google Trends can help you pinpoint what your target audience is searching for online. Once you understand their questions and interests, you can create content to answer those questions and peak those interests.

2. Be credible – A brand’s credibility is often judged by the quality of its content. That is why it’s important that what we create is professional and relevant. Establish your brand as an expert by writing meaningful blogs or posting well-produced videos. Being credible will build trust in your brand and make you a “go-to” in your field of expertise.

3. Work at the relationship  Our ultimate goal for content marketing is to create a long-term relationship with consumers. Like any serious relationship, however, this takes work. In order to stay present in the minds of consumers, be consistent and current in the content you create. Also, as noted in the Forbes Content Marketing for Startups article, it is important to keep things exciting with videos, images and graphics.

As consumers grow increasingly savvy regarding traditional advertising, having a content marketing strategy is a good idea for all businesses. It can be especially useful, however, for startups focusing on brand awareness, credibility and loyalty under a modest budget.
