So had your Eureka moment and have taken the leap of faith. Perhaps you’ve quit your job and have launched your dream startup. You have little money but intend to upset the giants, who have huge marketing budgets. A decade or two ago, you would have been destined to fail, however, in the age of internet that need not be the case.

Enter Digital Marketing. Your only hope is to smartly leverage your free/low-cost digital marketing channels.

Here are a few tips on doing it:

  1. Plan: Know where your customer go and then go there. E.g. if you are in healthcare space, health apps may be the way to go, but if you are a local plumbing service, it is better to bet on Google local search.
  1. Swim Across The Channels: Most of the digital marketing channels are low cost or even free. You can use a combination of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn etc. and see which one works the best for you and then optimize it, but keep experimenting it costs a little.
  1. Reach their Mailbox: Nothing beats email. No other marketing tool would give you more traction than a mailbox reach. You can announce new products, offer discounts, or just send a newsletter to thousands with a single click. And it doesn’t take much, a free ebook or a discount coupon would easily get you the mail addressses.
  1. Reward the tribe: So, you have a fan base which buys your product and likes it, they helped you survive the initial days. Ensure that you love them back. Give them great service, special discounts, exclusive deals, and encourage them to spread the word. A satisfied customer still remains the best marketing strategy, especially so in the contagious digital world.

Follow the above mentioned tips, experiment with your marketing and grow online.
